Facebook Profile Photo Size
Facebook Profile Photo generally your Facebook Profile Photo is going to be square although a lot of times it does crop it down to a circle for example in each Post on the Newsfeed. So please keep that in mind the Facebook Profile Photo Size will show at 170 x 170 pixels.
We’ll usually size them at 400 x 400 pixels because that’s what Twitter and LinkedIn and some other Social Media use. But any square bigger than 170 x 170 pixels will work the same. Just make sure it looks good tiny, because obviously on a Smartphone it’s going to be very, very small.
Facebook Cover Photo Size
Facebook Cover Photo these are at the top of your page officially the Sizes are listed as 820 x 312 pixels again we’re talking pixels on a Computer or 640 x 360 pixels on Mobile Phone Devices. Not all of it will show on Mobile Phone though the edges get cropped off so keep the essential part in the Mobile Phone now We prefer to Design mine at 820 x 461 pixels as suggested.
The top and the bottom will be cropped a little bit in Computer and the sides will be cropped on Mobile Phone so again keep your actual content there in the middle also remember the difference between Personal Profiles and Business Pages.
Facebook Post Photo Size
Facebook Post Photo Size they can range from a 16:9 Aspect Ratio which is widescreen like 1920 x1080 pixels up to a 9:16 Aspect Ratio which is Portrait 1080 x 1920 pixels. Now We like to go tall with Images whenever possible because you take up more Realistic in the Newsfeed on both Desktop Computer and Mobile Phone.
A complete photo only takes a little bit of space in the Newsfeed square takes a little more and then a tall Photo or a Portrait Photo takes up a lot more freedom as they’re scrolling. And theory is the more time someone’s eyes spend on your Image the more likely you are to get them to stop and engage with it.
Facebook Video Post Photo Size
Facebook Video Post Photo Size for the longest time it was always a 16:9 Aspect Ratio which is 1920 x 1080 pixels that’s widescreen. Still, square videos often perform better because they take up more Height in the Newsfeed just like we talked about for Images.
And it’s not officially sanctioned, but you can upload even taller Videos but if you do a fully Vertical Video at a 9:16 Aspect Ratio 1080 x 1920 pixels which is what Facebook and Instagram Stories use it will get cropped off at the top and the bottom or have bars on the side so keep that in mind.
Facebook Ads Size
Facebook Ads Size has been 1200 x 628 pixels forever and just recently Facebook Ads Guide said that we could start using Square Images in Ads so if you’re going to create those We start at 1200 x 1200 pixels.
Facebook Cover Photo Size
Facebook Recommends a couple more that will Cover Photo Size 1640 x 859 pixels but a tiny piece of the top and the bottom won’t show so make sure nothing is essential there.
Facebook Event Photo Size
Facebook Event Photo Size 1920 x 1080 pixels again they’ll show slightly differently on Mobile Phone so keep that in mind.
